Children aged four can generally do puzzles up to around 50 pieces, although of course this will vary according to the child and their particular skills with some 4 year old's being able to manage puzzles up to 100 pieces. Four-year-olds are at an age where their cognitive abilities are rapidly developing, making puzzles an excellent tool for stimulating their minds and honing their problem-solving skills. For this age group, puzzles with larger pieces and simpler designs are ideal. Puzzles that encourage matching colours, numbers, or letters can also be both entertaining and educational for four-year-olds, helping them develop important cognitive and fine motor skills while having fun.
