Baby Gift Hamper

With a little bit of time and creativity, you can create a beautiful baby gift hamper that is sure to impress. I’ve outlined three easy steps for putting together a beautiful gift.

1. Think Ahead

As the wise saying goes: “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.” Put a little bit of planning into your gift and it’s sure to succeed. Firstly, think about what the gift recipient will love and need, according to your budget. Make sure to include the cost of the basket or container and wrapping in your budget.

Next, think about the gift recipient’s style and taste. Is she more funky, girly, trendy, earthy, classic, eccentric? Choose gift items and a gift box to match her style. For some unique ideas, see the list at the end of this article.

Regardless of the recipient’s taste, I always recommend choosing BPA free and natural items (organic where possible), so baby will be receiving only the best.

2. “Theme” Your Hamper

Once you’ve settled on some gift ideas, create a theme around them. You can base this on a character (i.e. teddy bear), a brand (i.e. Baby Einstein) or an idea (i.e. bath-time). Most importantly, make sure to match the style and color of the items around each other. You can plan this beforehand or pick the matching items while shopping.

3. Find the Right Gift Container

Choosing the right container and wrapping will finish off the perfect gift hamper. Make sure to match the color and style of the container with the contents. You can pick up some lovely gift containers and ribbons from your local bargain or craft store.

For a larger gift, stacking a set of gift boxes on top of one another and finishing it off with a beautiful ribbon will always impress. If you’d like to get more creative, present your hamper in a gift item, such as a toy wagon, nappy bag or nappy change caddy.

Alternatively, if you have some unused gift boxes, baskets or ribbon lying around the house, now is a great time to use them. If you’re into scrapbooking, design your own matching gift card as well.
