This blog is a continuation of our previous post on how to keep your child’s room neat using 3 Sprouts storage items.

Idea #4: Using 3 Sprouts Storage Chests to Safely Keep Toys Out of Sight

We all struggle to keep our kids rooms and play areas neat. These days homes seem to be overflowing with toys and games and they keep finding their way all over the house. Toys just keep accumulating over time from birthdays, holiday seasons and relatives.

3 Sprouts Toy Chests are a great way to help keep the kids’ clutter at bay, especially with larger items. Unlike heavy wooden chests, they have a light and easy to lift lid, making them a much safer option for little fingers. Kids can independently remove and pack away their own items without any worries.

With generous sizing, they also provide ample storage and are designed to go on the floor so that taking out and packing away toys becomes really easy for kids. Like all 3 Sprouts storage items your children will adore the felt animal figures and colours.

  • Good for storing large items that don’t seem to fit anywhere.
  • Great for keeping dolls, teddies, and your child’s favourite cushions and blankies.
  • Excellent to store large kids books that don’t fit on the shelf, monster trucks and large baby and toddler toys.
  • Perfect storage solution for your child’s winter bedding and extra blankets or to store away seasonal clothing
  • Use them to store your children’s scarfs, hats, beanies and backpacks.

Toys Out of Sight

There are a number of techniques you can use to encourage your kids to tidy up and put the toys back in the toy chest. One game is to put on a timer for 1 to 5 minutes and sing a tidy up song together as they race to beat the clock and pack everything away in the chest in time. Another fun way is to ask your child to count how many things they can pack up. This works especially well with friends or siblings, where there is some level of competition involved. Whoever packs away the most items in the toy chest wins!

If you don't have a designated playroom (like many of us in urban areas), you can even place a 3 Sprouts toy chest in the living room to store away all the toys, puzzles and games. The chest provides easy access for your child and a neat way (excuse the pun) to store things away when not in use. As the boxes have a lid, the toys won’t be visible at all.

Style Tips

  • 3 Sprouts Toy Chests go perfectly at the end of your child’s bed or next to their cot: keep blankets and teddies out of sight, yet within easy reach. Choose a chest design that compliments the bedding and general room decor.
  • Here are some fun instagram images which show how rooms have been styled (and kids and pets too!) using the 3 Sprouts Buffalo and Crocodile Chests.
